Initiative Capital hires housing program officer
Dec. 3, 2012 - The N.C. Community Development Initiative Capital has hired Chris Gonzalez as housing program officer to coordinate and develop its affordable housing lending programs.
Gonzalez will manage Initiative Capital’s Neighborhood Stabilization Program (NSP) which provides loans to nonprofits to purchase and renovate foreclosed homes for resale to low-income buyers. She will also review and process loan applications for housing projects and provide technical assistance to organizations involved in the Neighborhood Stabilization Program.
Gonzalez brings 10 years of experience in affordable housing development, credit and mortgage counseling and pre- and post-purchase housing counseling. Previously, she served as housing director for the Center for Economic Empowerment and Development in Fayetteville, where she managed housing construction and rehabilitation projects including NSP renovations, provided case management and housing counseling and served as a consultant on housing projects to other nonprofit organizations statewide.
