Listening sessions for local foods planned

January 7, 2023 – The North Carolina Local Sustainable Foods Advisory Council is working with partners across the state to conduct listening sessions for entrepreneurs and farmers involved in developing North Carolina’s local foods economy.

The council is specifically interested in hearing about any limitations or barriers entrepreneurs and farmers are experiencing as they pursue developing the local foods economy in their county.

Three upcoming listening sessions are planned:

January 31, 2023
Martin County, Williamston

1:00-3:00 p.m. (snacks provided)
NC Telecenter located at 415 East Blvd, Williamston

February 1, 2023
Robeson County, Lumberton

10:00 a.m. to Noon (snacks provided)
OP Owens Ag Center at the Robeson County Center,  455 Caton Road, Lumberton

February 23, 2023
Buncombe County, Swannanoa

Held in conjunction with Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Program’s Business of Farming Conference at Warren Wilson College for conference attendees.
