The NC Initiative Youth Leadership Program has truly changed my outlook on my choices and on life in general! During these few weeks, I have developed such an open mindset and I truly cherish this experience. I have gained several new friends who have so much knowledge and potential. Together, we have shared plenty of ideas, honest opinions, and, of course, laughs. I would highly recommend this program to any teen who is looking for a change, and who has the drive to make it happen.
My favorite part about the forums in which I have participated was getting a chance to interact and form bonds with my colleagues. We have gone bowling, golfing, to a baseball game, among other things. I feel like these fun outings really brought all of us closer and helped us be able to express ourselves comfortably, and to develop trust.
After the program is over, I will use all of the information from the lessons to the best of my ability. I have absorbed so many beneficial tips and key points that will help me become a better leader, friend, and person, which could lead me in the direction of several great opportunities.
I would like to like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Damon, the mentors and my colleagues for making this experience the absolute best that it could be! I will forever be thankful and appreciative for such an awesome program!
